It begins in 2018, 8 years after Rise of the Planet of the Apes, where the virus known as ALZ-113 has caused the collapse of the human civilization. Ten years go by and Ceaser leads a new generation of Apes that live in the local Forest. After an accident in the Forest, to find a hydroelectric dam, the humans led by a man named Malcolm (Jason Clarke) discover the Apes, by accident, and Ceaser orders the humans to leave and never return. Meanwhile, the humans are living in a heavily guarded area of San Francisco and must get the Dam running or suffer fate. So Malcom attempts to reason with Ceaser and begins a new friendship with him and they learn from each other. Meanwhile, Koba, Ceasers lieutenant and a renegade has plans of his own because he distrusts humans to extreme beliefs and attempts to led an Ape uprising.
